My attempt to blend in

I found it extremely difficult to find something to blend my object into
in the end i chose a basket of neon legwarmers.

Here is my final piece. I feel the bright neon colours
represent my personality and are colours I wear all the time.

I covered it in paper mache so there was a good surface to stick my shapes onto.
I then made it more waterproof by adding sticky back plastic.
I then added tape to make it waterproof.
Here i covered my camera in paper.

Here i cut my shapes out of neon paper.

Hmmm

I've come to the conclusion that my shapes appear to abstract and its hard to tell that they are cameras I need to work on this.

Ideas

I decided to use muslin as I felt i could sew
the fabric onto the camera making it a tight
fit. Also I enjoy working with fabric and
feel it incorporates my hobbies and personality.

I used traditional colours as I felt the
shapes created appeared quite traditional so
wanted to keep this theme.

I tried out my design on material.
I used some muslin and drew around the
card shapes to create the pattern in pencil.

Here I used felt tips. This medium wasn't
the best to use as it had a very streaky effect.
I wanted to colours to almost blend together.
